Dino Explorers day
Dinosaur Explorers are coming to the Rare Breeds Centre on Saturday 17th January, from 10am till 3pm!
Meet the Dino Explorers as they roam the farm hunting for dinosaurs! Come rain or shine chat with them, follow their adventures, and grab a picture with them too! For the dino enthusiasts in your family, we’ve put together a full day of fantastic dinosaur related activities! Don’t miss all the fun things to see and do that will be thrilling for little amateur paleontologists. See more details below.

Farmyard summer fun
Get ready for a summer packed with hands-on fun, family games and farm adventures for the most farmyard summer fun ever! From Monday 20 July to Monday 31 August 2026, every day brings something new to enjoy, with themed activities running right across the summer holidays.
Alongside all your favourite farm attractions, there’ll be giant games on the field, tractor-trailer rides, pig racing, our giant sand pit (with deck chairs for parents) face painting and plenty of chances for little ones to play, explore and get stuck in. Whether they love splashing about, discovering nature or dancing in the sunshine, there’s something to make every child’s visit feel special. Every day for Farmyard Summer Fun!
Every visit includes plenty to enjoy, from our Big Summer of Games on the field (shown in the gallery below) to tractor rides, pig racing and face painting. There will also be a daily foam party running each day from 11:30 am – 12:30 pm! Children can pick up a Little Farmers fact sheet and head off to explore, making the most of all the fun happening across the farm throughout the day.
Farmyard Olympic Mondays
Kick off the week with a farmyard twist on sports day. Children can race through relays, leap over straw bales, try a sack race, test their strength in a tug of war, gallop in the hobby horse race and test their aim with milk bottle knockdown. It’s energetic, cheerful fun for the whole family, with a chance to design a farmyard Olympic medal to take home too.

Nature Explorer Tuesdays
Tuesdays are all about getting closer to the natural world. Young explorers can set off on a nature scavenger hunt, get hands-on with sensory play, build dens in the woods and join a nature themed detective-style adventure around the farm. It’s a lovely day for curious minds, packed with textures, colours and countryside discoveries. Additional activities:

Farmyard Water Play Wednesdays
Midweek is made for splashing, bubbling and cooling off in true farmyard style. Children can enjoy the Lucky Duck Dip, water play stations, the Straw Bale Splash Maze, giant bubbles and even veggie ice pop making with the farmers. Expect plenty of laughter, a little mess and lots of sunny holiday fun.

Tractor Mania Thursdays
If your little ones love tractors, Thursdays will be a highlight. From tractor displays and mini tractor play to tractor-themed games like Pin the Wheels on the Tractor, and a decorate-your-own-tractor competition, there’s lots to keep young farming fans busy. Families can also follow the Harvest Trail around the farm in search of all things harvest time.
Farm Fiesta Fridays
Fridays bring the party atmosphere, with a countryside disco, farmyard karaoke and bingo out on the field. It’s the perfect way to round off a week of summer adventures, with music, games and plenty of chances for families to join in the fun together.

Little Farmers Weekends
Weekends will bring even more family-friendly farm fun, giving visitors extra chances to enjoy a summer day out packed with play, discovery and fresh-air adventure perfect for families with young children.
Mystical magical may half term
Step into a world of wonder and mystical magic this may half term at the Rare Breeds Centre!
Get ready for a spellbinding day out packed with magical moments for the whole family. Meet enchanting characters and get hands-on with themed crafts and activities as you explore the farm.
From animal encounters to picture perfect magical surprises, there’s something around every corner, come dressed to impress (wings, wands and wizard hats welcome) and make memories that feel truly magical this may half term.

While you’re here, make sure to enjoy all the fun attractions on the farm, including adventure playgrounds, ride-on tractors in our Tractor Village, stop off for a sweet treat at our Ice Cream Kiosk and enjoy some shade by trying one of our three Woodland Walks.

We aim to ensure that as many animal-related activities as possible take place each day. However, as we work with live animals, situations can be unpredictable, and not all animals may be available at all times or every day.
Easter holidays on the Farm
Hop on over for Easter on the Farm, from Friday 3rd April to Sunday 19th April, where you can experince feeding some of our animals and meet the new arrivals, take part in our Bunny Trail and cheer on the racing pigs as Pig Racing returns!
Make sure to join us for our Spring Market on Saturday 11th and Sunday 12th April too! Where you will find a variety of stallholders and seasonal delights!

Fun-o-rama with Siana
Get ready for a weekend packed with giggles and good times as Siana brings her high energy to the farm on Saturday 9th and Sunday 10th August for Fun-o-rama with Siana, a joyful experience specially designed for little ones!
Join us for two lively sessions each day, the first at 11am till 12pm and the second at 1pm till 2pm, where children will be swept up in a whirlwind of music, dancing, games, and plenty of playful silliness. Siana’s infectious energy and love for fun make this the perfect activity for younger children to express themselves, and get moving!
Expect laughter, singing, and non-stop interactive entertainment that will have your little ones smiling from ear to ear.
With sessions running twice daily, there’s plenty of opportunity to come along and enjoy the fun – or even join in more than once!

Country Showdown
Big Summer of Games: Country Showdown
Get your cowboy boots on and dust off your hats! We’re bringing a taste of the Wild West to the farm, for our Country Showdown Weekend on Saturday 24th and Sunday 25th August! It’s all part of our Big Summer of Games.
Join the fabulous Siana, who’ll be leading the fun with some toe-tappin’ line dancing sessions at 11am, that’ll have the whole family movin’ and groovin’. Whether you’re a seasoned dancer or giving it a go for the first time, everyone’s welcome to join the barn-style fun!
Little cowboys and cowgirls, make sure to dress the part, because we’ll be holding a fancy dress competition each day, with prizes for the best-dressed!
That’s not all, pop into the Discovery Zone between 12:30pm and 1:30pm to make your own Sheffif Badge! A great way for kids to get creative and make their own little piece of the Wild West to take home.
Our brand new Tin Can Alley will be opening 2pm till 3pm, so make sure to head over and test your aiming skills!
Your favourite cowboy and cowgirl will also be at the farm on Saturday so make sure to hi to them and snap a picture!
It’s going to be a rootin’-tootin’ good time full of dancing, crafts, costumes, and country-style fun for the whole family!

Den Building
Big Summer of Games: Den Building
Bring your imagination and test your den-building skills with us on the 30th & 31st of August!
Wander up to Rainbow Wood, where our Environment and Conservation Officer will show you everything you need to know about building a brilliant den, and provide you with all equiptment you might need!
The sessions will be running at

- 2pm – 2:45pm
- 3pm – 3:45pm
This activity is included in your ticket price, but spaces are limited, so please pre-book to secure your spot. On arrival at the farm, the admissions team in the Gift Shop will provide you with a paper ticket showing your allocated time slot.

Teddy Bears Picnic
Big Summer of Games: Teddy Bears Picnic
Who doesn’t love a teddy bears picnic? We’ve got a whole weekend of teddy bear-themed fun lined up on Saturday 16th and Sunday 17th August, and you won’t want to miss it!
On both days, from 11am to 4pm, the amazing Kent Kite Flyers will be putting on exciting displays, and the best part? They’ll be sending teddy bears soaring into the sky on their kites! It’s a super fun sight that little ones will love.
In the mornings, join us for craft sessions where children can get creative making hats and friendship bracelets, perfect for themselves and their teddy bears.
Then in the afternoons, get ready to join Siana for a big teddy bears’ picnic and some fun games. Bring a blanket, bring your bears, and get ready for a chilled-out, laughter-filled afternoon. You’re welcome to bring your own picnic, or grab something tasty from the Granary Restaurant or one of our catering outlets. Our kids lunch boxes are a great choice at just £7 each for a choice of sandwich, drink and 5 snack items.
It’s going to be a lovely, relaxed weekend full of creativity, games, and sky-high teddy adventures. Bring the whole family and don’t forget your bear!
